Our Partnerships

We are committed to working together with our local community.

Local Community Partnerships

Meadowhall Centre Ltd

Tinsley Meadows Primary School is proud to receive support from Meadowhall Centre Ltd.

Meadowhall is committed to providing support to the local community and we are very lucky to have benefited from Meadowhall’s generosity for many years. Thanks to the Executive Team at the Centre, our children have enjoyed whole school trips to Scarborough and Whitby; visits to the Gruffalo experience; trips to Santa’s Grotto and involvement in many other activities including Meadowhall’s 25th birthday celebrations on 4th September 2015.

We are incredibly grateful to our partners at Meadowhall and we look forward to a long lasting relationship through which our local community really benefits.

Our Local Mosques

Hanfia Masjid and Islamic Cultural Centre, Madani Education Centre, Ismaili Jamaat Khanah

We work in partnership with our local mosques for the good of all our pupils. We visit the mosque as part of our RE curriculum.

Our Local Churches

Saint Lawrence Church, Tinsley Methodist Church, Saint Andrews Church

We work in partnership with The Rivers Team group of local churches for the good of all our pupils. We visit ST Lawrence church as part of our RE curriculum.  St Lawrence are very generous in their donations of food, clothing and money to help all our children and families.

Tinsley Community Allotment

Our pupils make regular visits to Tinsley Community Allotment where volunteers from the local community teach the children about growing plants, fruit and vegetables.  We are very grateful to these local volunteers who give up their time to support our children.

South Yorkshire Police

We work in partnership with the local police in order to keep everyone safe in school. We often welcome local officers into school to talk to staff and pupils about local events such as bonfire night.

 Pastoral Partnerships

A big thank you to Greggs whose regular donations to the school support us to run our breakfast club and the Tinsley Tummies food bank.  In 2020 Greggs donated to the school a mobile food trolley to support us during the pandemic so that we could still provide breakfast club in school when COVID bubble restrictions meant we could not run it in the school dining hall as usual.

Morrisons and Asda

A big thank you to Morrisons and Asda whose contributions to the Tinsley Tummies food bank provide regular support food parcels for families in need.  Regular deliveries from during lockdown 2021 made a big difference to many of our families and ongoing donations have helped us to continue to maintain the foodbank.

Sheffield Association for the Voluntary Teaching of English

We value our partnership with SAVTE whose community development approach strongly matches our ethos.  Together we are committed to addressing barriers to education for our families and making positive impact on inequalities in the local community.  SAVTE run regular courses for our families to help them learn English and enable them to become more active and empowered citizens in the Tinsley community.

Roshni provides a weekly drop-in clinic in school for South Asian women.  They offer a range of activities and services including advocacy support, emotional support and counselling, training and learning opportunities, help for women seeking employment, support for women aged 50+ and social and recreational opportunities.  The clinic is well attended and we value the support that Roshni offers to our families.

Lets Get Cooking

We are proud to be a part of the Lets Get Cooking project run by the British Diabetic Association.  We know that when children eat better, they do better. So we run a weekly cooking club, funded by the Let’s Get Cooking charity, to inspire our children to learn to cook and enjoy good food.  This gives them the confidence and skills they need to get hands-on in the kitchen and make healthier food choices throughout their lives.

Sheffield Young Carers

Sheffield Young Carers offers support to our pupils who have caring responsibilities at home.  We share their belief that every young carer has the right to be recognised in their role and have the same opportunities and life chances as other children and young people of a similar age.  We thank them for their ongoing support.

Curriculum partnerships

Birkdale Independent School

Tinsley Meadows Primary is also very excited to be working in partnership with Birkdale Independent School.

Each year Tinsley Meadows have been visited every Wednesday by students from Birkdale School Sixth Form. The students have helped out in lessons and have facilitated group work with our children. One student even volunteered to stay with us after school to hold a Latin Club for our children. We would like to thank all the students for all their hard work and support.

We are proud to have supported a number of our own children in their scholarships to attend Birkdale Independent School following their education with Tinsley Meadows. We wish them the very best in their Birkdale journey and look forward to them visiting us when they reach Sixth Form themselves!

Thank you to colleagues and friends at Birkdale from all of us at Tinsley.

Arches School Sport Partnership

We work closely with Arches School Sports Partnership to deliver high quality Physical Education and Competitive Sports opportunities for our children. The Arches play a pivotal role in ensuring participation in PE & Sport so that our children (along with children across the city) enjoy the specific educational outcomes and personal, social and health benefits which PE & Sport bring. They also provide provision out of school hours and organise projects during the school holidays to keep children physically active.

Sheffield Children’s University

We are a registered provider for Sheffield Children’s University so our pupils earn CU credits by taking part in school-based learning activities at breakfast clubs, lunchtime activities and after-school clubs.
