Seven lucky children from Tinsley Meadow Primary (lower school) were among the first to try out what experts from the toy industry believe will be the biggest sellers at Meadowhall shopping centre this Christmas.
Our seven children were selected to road test the toys following a competition run by Meadowhall to design a Christmas e-card that will be sent out by Meadowhall to retailers and customers this Christmas.
The finalists were: Harley Chapman (Tanzanite), Amani Redzuan (Garnet), Karmilla Mohd-Salleh (Peridot), Aamina Abbas (Peridot), Nikol Skopova (Quartz), Sanah Khalid (Garnet), Khaira Mohd-Salleh (Onyz) and Zara Hussain (Coral). Karmilla Mohd-Salleh was the overall winner of the Christmas card design competition for which she received a £50 voucher to spend at Meadowhall! Excitingly, Karmilla’s design will feature on Meadowhall’s e-Christmas card in 2015.
As a thank you to all the runners up and the overall winner of the art competition, Meadowhall colleagues invited all eight children to visit Meadowhall Centre on 4th November to road test the top twelve dream toys of 2015.
They (and Mrs Best!) had a fabulous time playing with the toys and giving their opinions on what they liked the most and which they would like to add to their gift lists this festive season. Some were even interviewed by journalists from the Yorkshire Post and Sheffield Star!
Well done to all children involved and a big thank you to Meadowhall once again for engaging the children in such an exciting and fun project.
