Preparing for Return to School in September

We are driven by our desire to provide a positive, safe and stimulating environment.

Here at Tinsley Meadows we hope that you will continue your learning throughout the summer. This will help you to get ready for coming back to school in September.

Keeping fit and healthy throughout the summer

Don’t forget to fit in 60 minutes excercise every day.  Mr Azam and Mr Aslam have got some great ideas for you.  Look out for their updates on Twitter and Facebook and check out their new page Keeping Fit and Healthy.

Getting Ready for September

Safety Measures

  • In order to minimise the risk of children contracting Covid 19 in school, each class will be viewed as a bubble and detailed timetables have been put in place to ensure that these bubbles meet as little as possible.
  • Children will be required to sanitise their hands on entry to the school grounds and then at set points in the day.
  • Throughout the day, regular cleaning of classrooms and communal areas has been organised and additional cleaning staff will be joining our team.
  • From September, Nursery parents will be allowed onto the outdoor area, but will not be able to enter the school building unless they have booked an appointment first.  We ask parents that when you collect your child you also try to maintain social distancing while at the school gates and on the site.
  • Children in nursery should bring any essential belongings (spare clothes, nappies, wipes, water bottle) in a bag or rucksack, which will be kept on their coat peg. Everything should be clearly labelled with each child’s full name.

Important Dates and Times

  • We look forward to welcoming you back on Thursday 3rd September.
  • Inset training for staff – 1st and 2nd September.
  • As of Friday 11th September (the second Friday back), children in FS2-Y6 will finish at lunch time in order for us to do a complete deep clean of the site and for teachers to have their planning time. This will not affect afternoon Nursery sessions which will run as usual on Friday afternoons. Children who come to nursery in the afternoons should still attend every Friday afternoon as usual.
  • Next academic year we will be following the Sheffield school holidays.

From September we will be operating a cashless system for all school meals and school visits.  Please download the parentmail app on your phone or tablet and set up an account.

Parentmail workshop for parents will be held in September.

Things will be a little bit different in September.  Click the link above to read the school’s comprehensive COVID 19 risk assessment and understand the planning that has gone into making the neccessary changes.
